El Nino: Australia lowers expectation of harvest

In Australia are expected in the year 2015/16 with a lower production of wheat, cotton, and other agricultural goods, since the weather phenomenon El Nino has the country firmly in the grip and dries out the country.
Meteorologists have warned that the current El Nino, the second in five years, continues until the end of the year, said yesterday in the Australian Bureau of meteorology. The wheat production comes up to a maximum of 23.6 million tonnes, significantly less than in the previous estimate of ABARES, which amounted to 24.4 million tons.
Extrapolating the cotton, whose marketing period dating to July 1, 2016, now only with a production volume of 520,000 tons. The estimate to 559.500 tons, was in March. Also the beef was hit hard production and the Australian flock will fall to the lowest level for 20 years, because forage is scarce.
