England: acreage for wheat and oilseed rape rise

British wheat acreage will increase by 1% to 1.67 million hectares this year. This is the first increase since 2014, reports the Ministry of Agriculture as part of presenting the results of an annual survey.
Accordingly, rape seed area increased by 7.2% to 563,000 hectares for the first time since 2002.
The acreage for barley is down by 2%. It drops to 825,000 hectares. Winter barley acreage fell by 4.9% to 343,000 hectares, while acreage for summer barley increased marginally by 0.1% to 482,000 hectares.
