EU: Agritel expects second smallest wheat crop in the current decade

The French agricultural consultancy Agritel estimates this year's wheat crop (including common wheat and durum wheat) at 136.6 million tonnes in the European Union. Compared to the 2017 harvest, this would be a decline of 15 million tonnes. That would be after 2012 the second smallest harvest in the EU in this decade, said in a note. The smaller crop in northern Europe, especially in Germany, is cited as the main reason for this.
