Indonesia has also been given the right to appeal in the legal dispute with the European Union about anti-dumping duties on Indonesian biodiesel. The European Court of Justice ruled that the EU must delete the tariffs. The court's decision is to be implemented from 16 March 2018. Indonesia is one of the largest exporters of palm oil-based biodiesel. The Indonesian Association of Biofuel Manufacturers welcomed the verdict. The court ruling strengthens a decision by the World Trade Organization (WTO) earlier this year, calling on the EU to bring its actions into line with the WTO.
Indonesia also plans to challenge US anti-subsidy tariffs in a US court and at the WTO.
