In the 2017/18 marketing year, the EU Commission reduced its monthly forecast of EU wheat exports by 1.0 million tonnes to 23 million tonnes. This is evident from the supply and demand estimates published on the homepage. Already last month the export forecast was reduced by one million tons.
The forecast for stocks at the end of the 2017/18 marketing year increased from 14.3 million tonnes to 15.3 million tonnes. For 2018/19, the Commission expects wheat production in the EU to reach 141 million tonnes (previous month: 140 million tonnes). The estimate for wheat exports in 2018/19 remained unchanged at 25.3 million tonnes.
