EU Commission increases export forecast for wheat

The EU Commission has increased its monthly forecast of EU common wheat exports for the 2021/22 marketing period from 30 million tons to 32 million tons. The forecast for EU wheat production was also increased slightly from 130.3 million tons to 130.4 million tons. The forecast for wheat stocks at the end of the 2021/22 season will therefore drop from 13.9 million tons to 12.7 million tons.
For maize, the Commission raised its production forecast in the EU-27 from 67.8 million tonnes to 68.4 million tonnes. The forecast for EU corn imports in 2021/22 of 14.5 million tons remained unchanged.
