The European Commission today increased its estimate of usable common wheat production in the marketing year 2021/22 in the European Union from 130.4 million tons to 130.6 million tons.
In the monthly supply and demand projections, the Commission kept its forecast for EU common wheat exports in the marketing year 2021/22 unchanged at 32.0 million tonnes.
For maize, the Commission increased its forecast for usable production in 2021/22 in the 27 EU member states from 68.4 million tonnes a month ago to 69.4 million tonnes and left the forecast for EU maize imports in 2021/22 unchanged at 14.5 million tons.
