Corn rose yesterday on Euronext/Matif. The most traded March contract climbed EUR 1.75 to EUR 332.50/t. Subsequent contracts are quoted above this price. The EU Commission has once again corrected the corn forecast for the EU in the current marketing year downwards. instead of the previously expected 55.5 million tons, 54.9 million tons of corn are said to have been taken from the fields. Harvest expectations have been reduced particularly for Spain, France and Poland. The prices on the local cash markets are largely unchanged. The CBoT went south for corn. Weekly export sales came in below the most pessimistic analysts' expectations. Even with the start of pre-market trading today, red signs are showing on the eCBoT.
