EU Commission significantly lowers forecast of wheat production in the EU

In its monthly update, the EU Commission today lowered its forecast for EU-27 wheat production from 125.8 million tons to 121.5 million tons. The export forecast for the 2020/21 season was also lowered from 28 million tons to 26.5 million tons of wheat.
The Commission has slightly increased the gesture production forecast from 56.1 to 56.2 million tons. In contrast, the forecast for corn production was increased significantly from 69.5 to 71.4 million tons.
