EU exports 9.5 percent more wheat

In Paris, prices fell yesterday. The front month lost EUR 4.50 per ton and closed at EUR 319.50. In the course of the day, however, there were definitely higher losses for the grain. The EU Commission published its new export statistics yesterday. According to this, the EU-27 exported 13.35 million tons of common wheat to third countries. That is 9.5% more than in the previous year at the same time. On the local cash markets, turnover is still low, and the prices are weaker following the stock exchange. On the other hand, on the CBoT, wheat and corn prices turned around yesterday. With the impact of two bombs in Polish residential buildings, the courses took a different direction. The stock exchange in Paris was already closed at the time of the announcement. The incident severely overshadows hopes of extending the grain corridor. The Kremlin had recently spread optimism about the extension of the deal, which expires on Saturday, and thus put pressure on prices. However, pre-market prices for wheat on the eCBoT this morning are falling again.
