EU increases import tariff for corn

The European Union has raised its import duty on corn to EUR 10.40 ($ 11.25) per tonne from EUR 5.27 and has published it in the Official Journal. The new duty, which came into force on May 5, also applies to the import of rye and sorghum.
The EU reintroduced import duties to a 10-year low on April 27 after US prices plummeted.
