Yesterday the EU Commission presented its plans to support the fertilizer market. The concept contains a bundle of measures for the member countries. This is to ensure that fertilizer producers have access to this energy source even in emergencies in the gas supply. The member states should also pay subsidies. To make the market more transparent overall, a market observatory is to be set up at the EU Commission. In addition, the member states are encouraged to launch other production processes using biomethane or hydrogen. However, the Commission's proposals are not binding. Fertilizer prices have recently fallen on the cash markets.
