EU wheat export season starts slowly

In the first two weeks of July, the European Union (July 1-12, 2020) exported 241,577 tons of common wheat. That was 62% less than in the same period of the 2019/20 season.
Barley exports during this period amounted to 76,524 tons, which was 55% less than last year. Corn imports totaled 357,499 tons (-53%).
The EU Commission recently reported EU 2019/20 soft wheat exports at 34.7 million tons, barley exports at 7.61 million tons.
Corn imports in the previous season were 19.58 million tons.
Britain's imports and exports are still included in the figures, although the country left the EU in late January.
