In the week leading up to March 27, the EU's wheat exports reached a volume of 14.3 million tons in the 2017/18 marketing year. This is a decrease of 23% compared to exports at the same time last year. Together with wheat flour, durum wheat and durum meal, exports totaled 15.6 million tons versus 20.5 million tons in the marketing year 2016/17. Barley was exported on March 20 in a volume of 4.3 million tons (previous year: 4.0 million tons), an increase of 8%. Corn imports are currently 12.8 million tonnes, 50% higher than last year, when 8.5 million tonnes of corn were imported at the same time.
