In the week ending March 20, EU wheat exports reached a volume of 14.1 million tonnes in the 2017/18 marketing year. This is a decrease of 23% compared to exports at the same time last year. Together with wheat flour, durum wheat and durum meal, exports totaled 15.4 million tonnes versus 20.1 million tonnes in the 2016/17 marketing year. Barley was exported on March 20 in a volume of 4.0 million tons (previous year: 3.8 million tons), an increase of 6%. Corn imports are currently 12.3 million tonnes, 52% higher than last year, when 8.1 million tonnes of corn were imported at the same time.
