Maize in Paris was mixed yesterday. While the front dates had to give way slightly, the back contracts went further north. On the other side of the Atlantic, however, closed, it went into the red area. The front month lost $3.25 US cents/bushel to $756.50 US cents/bushel (272.65 euros/ton). Above all, the bearish mood in the crude oil markets caused selling pressure. According to the EIA, 1,003 million barrels a day of ethanol were produced last week. That's a drop of 33,000 barrels. Stocks have fallen again to 25.9 million barrels. In the Ukraine, in addition to the decline in wheat areas, a reduction in the area under cultivation for maize of -55% is also expected. Many regions are still occupied by Russian troops. In addition to the lack of workers, there is also a lack of fertilizer and operating resources.
