Institutional investors turned their stock of futures and options on Euronext wheat from net short to net long last week. This is shown by the report published today by Euronext for the fourth time.
The group of non-commercial participants, ie mutual funds, banks, insurance companies and the like, is now currently with 7,077 contracts net long and betting thus in the majority of rising prices.
The "Commercial Participants" group, including Hedger, turned the holding from Netto-Long (5,446 lots) to net short (17,900 lots). This group has a share of 57.98% in the open contract portfolio (previous week: 65.2%).
By contrast, the proportion of "non-commercial participants" holds a significantly smaller share of the open contract portfolio of 19.79% (previous week: 17.1%).
