Euronext: Institutional investors reduce net long wheat stocks

Institutional investors reduced their holdings from 118,000 net long positions on futures and options (as of October 23) in the week ended October 30 to 114,515 net long positions. This means that a large majority of investors in this group remain bullish. This is shown by the COT report published yesterday by Euronext. The group of "non-commercial participants" includes investment funds, banks and insurance companies.
The group of “Commercial Participants”, including hedgers, increased its portfolio of net short positions minimally from 127,783 to 127,874 contracts.
Commercial participants hold 70.4% of the total short positions and 51.0% of the total long positions.
Non-commercial participants hold 29.4% of the total short positions and 48.3% of the total long positions.
The report accounts for 99.7% of open short positions and 99.3% of open long positions in wheat futures.
In rapeseed, the non-commercial participants reduced the number of Rapssaat futures and options from 14,603 to 7,738 net long contracts.
Commercial participants reduced their share of net short positions from 19,522 to 11,772 contracts.
