Institutional investors on Euronext Paris reduced their holdings from 181,779 net long positions on wheat futures and options (as of December 10th) in the week ended December 17th to 167,029 net long positions. The majority of investors in this group are still bullish. This is shown by the COT report published yesterday by Euronext. The group of "non-commercial participants" includes investment funds, banks and insurance companies.
The group of “commercial participants”, including hedgers, reduced their holdings of net wheat short positions to 184,648 contracts (previous week: 202,729 contracts).
Commercial participants hold 65.9% of the total short positions and 38.2% of the total long positions.
Non-commercial participants hold 34.1% of the total short positions and 61.8% of the total long positions.
In rapeseed, the investor group of non-commercial participants turned the number of rapeseed futures and options from 870 net long contracts to 25 net short contracts.
Commercial participants reduced their net short portfolio from 665 contracts to 77 contracts.
