US pork exports have been weaker than ever in the past week. The USDA just reported this in its so-called export sales, which are published once a week.
Earlier purchases were canceled by China last week, reporting pork exports of minus 45,222 tons. The last minus record was 17,614 tons the week of January 2, 2020.
Taking into account all exports during this marketing season, the USDA reports 139,719 tons of pork to China.
The backlog of containers in China is slowly clearing up again after the dock workers reappear there after a corona-related forced break.
Soybean exports were also negative in the week ending March 5. The authority reported minus 90,281 tons. Soybean exports were negative again in the first week of March, at minus 422,658 tons.
Traders are urgently waiting for China's agricultural imports from the United States to pick up, as agreed in the “Phase 1 deal” on January 15, 2020.
