Field tour reduces expectations of corn harvest

Maize rose sharply again yesterday and again reduced its gap to the wheat price. Grain maize areas are already being chopped these days as silo maize. The EU import statistics up to and including 29.8. an import quantity of 3.868 million tons, in the previous year it was 2.597 million tons at the same time. The Ukraine alone has 1.39 million tons in the first nine weeks of the new financial year, more than twice as much as in the same period last year. It is strong Ukrainian exports that are currently capping corn prices. By October, the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture is planning agricultural exports of 6.5 million tons. At the CBoT, the results of the field tour by the consulting company Pro Farmer provided a boost. The company undercuts USDA estimates by 4.5 percent. US exports came in significantly lower than the previous week at 689,052 tonnes, limiting gains.
