Trading ended with moderate gains both on this side of the Pacific and on the other side. The front month on the CBoT recorded a profit of $4.25 US cents/bushel and thus costs the equivalent of EUR 226.41/ton. Fodder for the bulls are the currently particularly poor growing conditions due to the drought in the southern United States. Although precipitation is expected this week, many market participants do not yet expect the situation to ease. In Argentina it is reported that the first results of the harvest were disappointing. The area yields in particular are well below the average of recent years.
