Soybean futures are growing by more than 1% today. Traders see potential for a surge in demand from China. State and private sources learned that Chinese importers signed contracts to purchase at least three bulk deliveries of U.S. soybeans this week. China, meanwhile, is preparing to purchase 10 million tons of soybeans and 20 million tons of corn to build state inventories to avoid the supply chain disruption caused by the coronavirus pandemic and to meet commitments made by the U.S. government, three said Sources with the Reuters news service.
