France: 45% of common wheat sowing completed as of October 19th

French farmers have completed the winter wheat sowing for the 2021 harvest on October 19 on 45% of the planned areas, reported the French agricultural consultancy FranceAgriMer in its weekly report on Friday. In the past week, the sowing progress was still 12%. Winter barley sowing is already further advanced with a share of 60% of the planned area (previous week: 17%). Winter durum is sown on 5% of the planned areas, last year it was 2% at the same time.
The corn harvest in France continues. 77% of the areas have meanwhile been cleared, compared with 64% the previous week.
