In France, yield losses are expected in many important regions due to the current drought. Nevertheless, the harvest of rapeseed and barley could be higher than last year. This is mainly due to the expanded acreage. A production of 3.87 million tons is expected for rapeseed, which corresponds to an increase of almost 20% compared to 2021. The area yields are rated somewhat lower at 32.6 quintals per hectare. The area should amount to 1.12 million hectares (+21.1%). A harvest volume of 8.25 million tons is expected for barley. Looking at the total grain harvest, Agreste analysts expect production of 9.04 million tons, down from last year's level of 9.32 million tons. The largest downward revisions are forecast for grain corn and wheat.
