France exported 1.44 million tonnes of common wheat in November, of which 730,000 tonnes were delivered to buyers outside the EU.
Algeria remains France's biggest customer. 480,000 tons were loaded there in November. In total, France exported 2.76 million tonnes outside the EU in November. This is 34% more than in the same period of the previous season, when France had a poor quality harvest.
Nevertheless, with its wheat exports of the very large and high-quality wheat harvest in 2017, France is lagging behind its self-imposed export targets for more than three months.
By 8 January France exported a total of 3.8 million tonnes of common wheat. That is less than half of the 9.5 million tonnes that FranceAgriMer expects for the entire marketing year until the end of June.
