France: FranceAgriMer expects higher wheat exports outside the EU

French agricultural advisory firm FranceAgriMer expects soft wheat exports to destinations outside the European Union to increase from 8.1 million tonnes in 2017/18 to 8.5 million tonnes in the current 2018/19 season. However, exports to destinations in the EU could drop to 8.1 million tonnes. In the 2017/18 marketing year, it was still 9.3 million tonnes. This emerges from the company's first offer and demand report for the new season.
Forecasts of wheat ending stocks fall from 2.95 million tonnes (2017/18) to 2.5 million tonnes. The main reason is the closer supply.
Hardly changed is the forecast for corn. Final stocks for 2018/19 of 2.5 million tonnes are expected. However, a strong decline in intra-EU exports is expected, which is due to the smaller crop and a stronger demand for feed maize.
Barley final stocks could fall from 1.5 million tonnes (2017/18) to 955,000 tonnes due to high expected exports outside the EU.
