The French agricultural consultancy FranceAgriMer raises the monthly estimate of France's wheat exports in the marketing year 2017/18 outside the EU from 8.3 million tonnes in April to now 8.4 million tonnes. Exports within the EU could also perform better than in the previous month and are now estimated at 9.1 million tonnes (previous month: 8.9 million tonnes).
The forecast for wheat stocks at the end of the 2017/18 season will therefore fall by 200,000 tonnes to 2.5 million tonnes.
The forecast for barley exports outside the EU is lower than expected in April. In April, it was 3.4 million tonnes, now it is only 3.1 million tonnes for the 2017/18 season. This is somewhat offset by higher expectations for exports within the EU, which could rise from 3.3 million tonnes to 3.4 million tonnes.
In corn, at the end of the 2017/18 season, FrancAgriMer expects final stocks of 2.7 million tonnes (previous month: 2.8 million tonnes).
