The French Ministry of Agriculture estimates the acreage for maize in France at 1.38 million hectares this year. This is unchanged from the previous year. However, the acreage would be 11.9% behind the 5-year average.
The sugar beet acreage is estimated to be 483,000 hectares, 0.7% less by 2017, but 16.3% larger than the 5-year average.
For wheat, the estimate of 4.95 million hectares is 0.2% lower than in the previous month (4.98 million hectares) and 1.9% behind the 5-year average.
