FranceAgriMer publishes final wheat quality test results

The French agricultural consultancy FranceAgriMer today published final results on the quality of the French wheat harvest in 2018. The average protein content is therefore 12% (previous year: 12.3%). In 84% of the samples tested, the protein content was 11.5% or above. A protein content of at least 12% reached 47% of the samples versus 65% last year. These values ​​11.5% and 12% are thresholds for international tenders.
The specific gravity averaged 77.8 kg per hectolitre (kg / hl), compared to 77.2 kg / hl in 2017. Approximately 86% of the samples had a specific gravity above the guideline value of 76 kg / hl.
The Hagberg case count of 240 seconds, another important quality feature, reached 97% of the samples tested versus 85% last year.
