French agricultural advisor FranceAgriMer today lowered its forecast for French third-country wheat exports for the third time in a row.
A table on supply and demand of common wheat for non-EU countries is published on the company's homepage. Accordingly, 9.3 million tonnes of common wheat will be exported in the 2017/18 season. The previous estimate was 9.5 million tonnes.
Exports from France to other EU countries are now estimated at 8.6 million tonnes. That's 500,000 tons more than previously forecast. This results in a stock of 2.9 million tons at the end of the season instead of the previously estimated 3.2 million tons.
The final stocks for barley are also falling: from 1.1 million tonnes to now 925,000 tonnes. This is due to higher consumption in the animal feed industry and exports to other EU countries.
In addition, the maize end stocks then fell, from 2.6 to 2.5 million tonnes. Again, more corn goes to other EU countries.
