Wheat futures in Chicago yesterday saw gains on front maturities. Bargain hunter buying activity helped price hike after wheat futures crashed to a 5-month low on Monday. Institutional investors bought 3,000 lots of CBoT SRW wheat yesterday. At the moment, the eCBoT is trading with moderate losses.
Wheat futures at Euronext in Paris benefited from the improved overseas requirements, the weak euro exchange rate and the slight recovery on the financial markets and increased significantly on all dates. There is still good export demand for wheat in Germany in the current month of March. How the demand will develop from April to June in view of the Corona crisis is difficult to predict. On the cash market in Hamburg, premiums for export wheat with 12.5% protein for delivery in April rose to 7 euros via Paris May 20. The rapeseed futures, which on Monday under the pressure of falling oil prices, bore the brunt of the losses in agricultural commodities at Euronext , also recovered yesterday.
