After the losses of the past few days, wheat prices in Chicago stabilized moderately at the end of the week on Friday. Weather risks and hopes of increased demand for wheat on the world market support the market. Institutional investors bought 4,000 lots of CBoT SRW wheat on Friday. The electronic night market is trading tighter this morning as well. The wheat futures at Euronext in Paris were able to follow the good guidelines from overseas and closed with profits. Russia's deputy minister of agriculture said on Friday that the country's grain export quota of 7 million tons for April to June could be used up in mid-May or earlier. In view of the export restrictions on the Black Sea, there is still a high demand for German and Polish wheat, especially from importers in Africa. The Association of Agricultural Cooperatives (DRV) estimates the German wheat harvest in 2020 at 22.73 million tons (-1.4% on the previous year). The state of winter wheat stocks in France has deteriorated somewhat compared to the previous week. After 61% as of April 6th, as of April 13th, 60% of the holdings are still in good or excellent condition.
