The corn futures on Euronext/Matif ended trading unchanged on Friday. Both the June and March dates were unchanged with low sales volumes. Many market participants continue to focus on the southern hemisphere. In line with the good prospects and expectations in Brazil, corn prices fell slightly on Friday at the CBoT. The grain exchange in Buenos Aires, Argentina, announced that 89 percent of the maize sowing in the country is now complete, but only 5 percent of the areas are rated as good or very good. The analysts of the grain exchange expect a corn harvest of 44.5 million tons, the exchange in Rosario (Argentina) estimates its own corn production at 45 million tons. The USDA was much more optimistic in the January WASDE with 52 million tons. Last week's export figures exceeded the expectations of market participants and had a correspondingly supportive effect. Pre-market, the eCBoT is showing a red sign today.
