Again slight gains, the wheat prices closed yesterday trading in Chicago. Short covers of funds due to possible loss of earnings during the grain harvest in Europe gave more support to the market. Fund companies reduced their holdings of net short positions at the CBoT SRW wheat to 6,000 lots. The eCBoT is today tomorrow slightly weaker. On Euronext Paris, wheat prices could no longer follow the late course spreads overseas and closed with losses on all dates. French soft wheat exports outside the European Union totaled in April on a volume of 1.5 million tonnes, the highest value since the beginning of the marketing period 2015/16 (July - June).
The Russian export wheat prices rose last week because of quality concerns of the new crop. Lingering rain and stormy weather put the field inventories.
Premiums in Hamburg = 11,50 euro/to see December 2016.
