The continuing harvest pressure in the United States, as well as the expectations of a large harvest and high surpluses could close the wheat prices with significant losses on Friday in Chicago. They lost by 7.7% compared to the previous week, there were even 13.3% in the past 4 weeks. The IGC raised its forecast of world wheat production 2016/17 to 7 million tons to 729 million tonnes (previous year: 736 million tonnes). Funds increased their holdings of net short positions to 7,500 slots CBoT SRW wheat.
