Chicago wheat quotes ended yesterday's trading day with moderate losses on technical chart sales. The trading volume was weak as expected. Fears that the frosty temperatures in the Midwest and in the US plains could damage the plants limited the losses. Also in the coming days frosty temperatures are expected. Institutional investors yesterday sold 1,500 lots of CBoT SRW wheat. The front month of March saw a price gain of 1.6% last week. At the moment the electronic night market is almost unchanged.
Last Friday, the wheat quotations on the Euronext in Paris closed with weak sales on the front maturities with moderate gains and on the back Fällikgeiten with moderate losses. On the March maturity, the important support line of 160 euros held. Egypt's GASC announced a tender last night for the purchase of an unspecified amount of wheat for the period February 1-10. Results are expected from this afternoon.
