grain mail

Continued weak export demand for US wheat on the world market and a stronger US dollar caused the CBoT wheat quotations to close yesterday with losses. Algeria's state-owned grain agency OAIC has tendered an international tender for the purchase of 50,000 tonnes (nominal) of millen wheat of optional origin for delivery in December.
The e-CBoT is trading the wheat almost unchanged this morning.
At Euronext in Paris, wheat prices fell to a two-week low yesterday, as exports are also disappointing here. The psychologically important 200-euro mark held firm. Shipments from French port squares slowed down in October. But Agritel is sure that France will be competitive again in the international market from December. In this season, exports are still 23% behind those of the previous year. Today one hopes for the addition with the Algeria call, where however also good chances are provided Argentina. The dry weather in the EU delays the sowing of winter cereals and hinders river navigation.
