Solid financial markets, price increases for the soybean and corn complex and hopes of a limitation of the corona virus gave wheat prices in Chicago a boost yesterday. At 2:30 p.m. today, the USDA publishes weekly US export sales. Analysts expect exports to range from 300,000 to 650,000 tons of wheat. Institutional investors yesterday bought 4,500 contracts of CBoT SRW wheat. At the moment, the eCBoT is minimally firmer.
The wheat futures at Euronext in Paris only partially followed the positive requirements from overseas and closed unchanged to moderately firmer. The agricultural consultancy FranceAgriMer increased its monthly forecast of French common wheat exports outside the EU from 12.4 million tons to 12.6 million tons in the current season. It is the fifth consecutive increase in which the forecast of non-EU exports has been increased. FranceAgriMer left the forecast of common wheat stocks at the end of the season almost unchanged at 2.4 million tons. On the cash market in Hamburg, offers for wheat with 12% protein for delivery in March rose by € 0.50 to € 4.50 via Paris March 19.British wheat exports rose in December due to deliveries to the United States and are well above the pace of last season.
