The spot prices for rapeseed have given in Germany in the past week, which has further reduced the sales incentives for farmers. However, hopes of enforcing price mark-ups at the end of the marketing period are waning, as more rapeseed are to be stored in producer warehouses than in previous years. Unless the oil mills raise their premiums more clearly than before. After that it does not look like it at the moment, because there are enough imported goods from Ukraine or Australia available on the market. Since rapeseed oil sales are weak with the biodiesel industry, the purchase requirement is low anyway.
As it is still too dry in Argentina's soybean regions, earnings losses are foreseeable. This has further increased the prices on the futures exchange in Chicago. This strong trend is also supported by rape seed prices on the Paris Matif and soybean meal prices. The buying interest of the compound feed manufacturers therefore remains low, the interest for rapeseed meal is brisk, however, because the supply of this is low.
Both rape seed oil and soybean oil prices have fallen in the past week. In this country, there are plenty of alternatives that are cheaper.
