Euronext corn followed the bearish wheat into the red. The August date, which is about to expire, fell by EUR 5.50 per tonne to EUR 323.25 per tonne. On the other side of the Atlantic, however, only the front month slipped into the red. For the later dates, the weekend started with slight gains. Temperatures are rising steadily, not only in this country. The current weather is also causing problems in the US corn belt. Another heat wave is expected, which could have a negative impact on the development of inventories. Export business is currently not providing any impetus. The joy of a deal with China was short-lived. The business of 130,000 tons was canceled just a few hours after the announcement. Harvesting work in Argentina has currently reached around 58% and is therefore slightly above the value of the previous year. However, the level of previous years could not be reached. A harvest of 49 million tons is expected.
