IGC expects less trade on the world market

The International Grains Council expects global trade deals to fall due to the war situation in Ukraine. While a total volume of 424 million tons was expected in February, it is now only 415 million tons. The result would thus be below the level of the previous year. At the same time, however, the experts are also anticipating a fall in demand due to the high prices. Global consumption is currently estimated at 2.278 billion tons. Last month the estimate was almost 8 million tons higher. In addition, an increase in global stocks to 607 million tons is expected. That would correspond to an increase of 11 million tons. More grain is being stored, particularly in Ukraine.
