IGC expects more rapeseed

The severe losses on Thursday were made up for on Friday in rapeseed trading on the Matif. The most traded May date increased by more than 18 euros per ton. The fact that the International Grains Council (IGC) expects extensive cultivation of rapeseed for the 2022/23 marketing season did not slow down the correction. Globally, the IGC expects a cultivation area of 900,000 ha, which would be 2.4 percent more than in 2021/22. The risk of wintering is considered to be low. In Europe, the cultivation areas in Germany and France in particular are likely to be expanded. The EU volume increases by 0.3 million tons to 5.6 million tons. In the case of soybeans, the rains in South America in particular had an impact on trade. Today the CBoT will remain closed.
