IGC raises forecast of global corn production due to good US corn crop

The International Grains Council (IGC) today increased its global corn production forecast for the 2018/19 season by 12 million tonnes to 1.064 billion tonnes. This was mainly due to the good conditions in the United States. The forecast of world wheat production reduced the IGC by 5 million tons to 716 million tons. The main reasons here were the bad harvests in the EU and in Australia.
