IKAR raises crop estimates once again

Moscow-based consulting firm IKAR has raised its crop estimate for Russia's cereal crop in 2018 to 109.4 million tonnes from 108.6 million tonnes today.
Accordingly, the wheat harvest is 69.8 million tons (previously: 69.3 million tons). The harvesting conditions in the Ural and Siberian regions have improved significantly.
At the end of this week the weather should get worse again. But then almost the entire crop should have been threshed.
The corn harvest estimate was also increased by 200,000 tonnes to 10.8 million tonnes, as yields in Russia's south and central regions were better than expected.
