Demand for raw materials for frying has risen again in recent days. In some cases, higher prices have been approved. However, foreign demand for consumer potatoes from Western and Central Europe, which had previously supported price levels, is still quiet after the Christmas period. Only sales to Poland are high again. It is uncertain whether sales abroad can be maintained for much longer. Factories in this country are already starting to conserve their stocks so that the supply of raw materials lasts until the next harvest. Instead, demand for freely available potatoes is picking up. However, the supply is small. The EEX index for processing potatoes will not rise this week. There are still lots on the market that are not suitable for long-term storage.
