The number of battles in Lower Saxony has declined in the third calendar week, as well as in Bavaria and Southwest Germany. In North Rhine-Westphalia, more animals were able to limp on the hook than in the second calendar week. Overall, however, the slaughter figures are significantly lower than in January 2022. Nothing has changed on the slaughter pig market. All in all, the market participants are waiting for impulses from the meat business. These are currently not available. We therefore expect the quotation for tomorrow to remain unchanged. At today's auction of the Internet Schweinbörs, a total of 740 pigs in 5 lots out of 1,220 pigs in 8 lots were sold at an average price of 2.07 €/kg (that's 1 cent less than at the auction on Friday) . The trading range was 2.06 to 2.07 euros/kg. 3 batches of 480 pigs could not be sold.
