The available supply of pigs ready for slaughter has recently decreased somewhat, the live supply is becoming smaller. Despite the rather sluggish meat business, demand remains greater than supply. The developments on the meat market for Easter fall short of expectations, and the most recent price increases cannot be fully passed on to end customers. However, the market trend remains brisk and animals ready for slaughter can be marketed without problems or delays. At today's auction of the Internet pig exchange, 640 pigs in 4 lots out of 960 pigs in 6 lots were sold at an average price of 2.43 euros (-3 cents compared to the last auction). The trading range was between EUR 2.41 and EUR 2.44.
