The European chips producers continue to work with high utilization of their systems. Basically, the processing industry is back to pre-pandemic levels, the AMI writes in its weekly report today. The export of fresh potatoes from Holland has also improved. The lack of transport space prevents exporting even more from the EU. On the domestic market, however, providers are noticing the first slump in sales towards the catering trade. The potato peeling companies notice this first, because many restaurateurs are suffering from the ordered restrictions on movement in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. In view of the good self-sufficiency in potatoes, imports to Germany are falling noticeably.
