After trading in futures on processed potatoes from the 2019 harvest on the EEX stock exchange in Leipzig ended last week, we now want to concentrate on the next harvest, even if in Western Europe (NL, B, F) there is still an aging fry raw material waiting for customers. The association of potato dealers in Holland VTA reports that more and more potatoes are now migrating to the feed troughs. In addition, the processing raw material is exported for 3-5 € / dt from the loading station to Eastern Europe, especially to the Ukraine. For even less money, however, the farmers no longer want to give up. Meanwhile, the sale of chips and fries raw materials for the new harvest will begin in northern Germany in the coming week. The factories signal acceptance dates as planned. In this country, the old harvest was finally used almost entirely for its intended purpose. If, in the western part of the EU, fries raw materials can also be routed to channels other than frits production in a controlled manner, then the new season can begin without a stressful raw materials presentation. Only the factories' deep-freeze warehouses are still full of French fries.
